Earth Hour 2008

Posted in Vidblogs by David on March 29th, 2008

I go out and about in downtown Kingston to see what impact Earth Hour has in Reality.

Will all the “Talk” turn into the “Walk”?

or will it all be hot air?

“Rasta Jah Mao” - RiseandShine TV

Posted in The DFBMBE BlogPosts by David on March 28th, 2008

On this the final day of the RiseandShine TV pilot series, two stories suggested by Fred 2 Baro and Tom Sparks fused to form one glorious song.

Reggae star Mikey Dread passed away - he who introduced the Clash to Reggae and brought about a wonderful marriage of protest and rebel energy - and the story of Chairman Mao Tse Tung’s millions, generated from his publishing exploits during his lifetime and still paying his heirs handsomely, which although dating from 2007 somehow surfaced once again today.

Thanks to DFBMBE for sponsoring this week - all money goes to BuskAid.

Thanks for all your terrific support for the last month! We’ll be posting all the songs online for your purchase and download in the next few days, as well as the winning videos from our competition, so check back for updates.

This from RiseandShine TV on the last day of it’s pilot project ……

“It’s the our final morning of this pilot series… we’re already feeling a heady mixture of euphoria and and anticipation. We announce the winner of the video competition, we gasp at our accomplishments and we bask in the warm glow of making the news ourselves“.

Dean Whitbread from RiseandShine TV shared a little mp3 about the Rise and Shine “model” and how it has worked. If you’re up early (or very late, if you’re in the US), check out the last live show in this pilot today.

The Twitter Colo(u)r Wars

Posted in The DFBMBE BlogPosts by David on March 27th, 2008

If you are a Twitter follower (like me) you’ll know that the color wars have started.

I stumbled across this cool song dedicated to this initial attempt to get twitterers to get involved in a common activity.

Its courtesy of Rhett and Link and their fantastic show.

Give it a listen.

“Paper Planes” - RiseandShine TV

Posted in The DFBMBE BlogPosts by David on March 27th, 2008

Today’s song on RiseandShine TV comes from the amazing story of Shinji Suzuki, a professor at Tokyo University’s Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics and his attempt to launch a paper plane in space and bring it back down to earth.. and what would happen if other nations followed suit.

This edition of Rise and Shine is sponsored by DFBMBE - all money goes to BuskAid.
